SDF ends its siege, which lasted for days, on villages in Deir Ezzor

SDF forces ended their four-day siege on a number of villages they had seized in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Yesterday, Sunday, local sources from the area said that members of the SDF are imposing a siege on the villages of Al-Hussan, Al-Junaina and Al-Jiyeh in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, after the intervention of a number of Syrian notables and tribal sheikhs.

The sources added that the committee headed to the operations headquarters in the village of Al-Hussan, and met with a number of leaders of the Syrian Democratic Forces to end the siege they were imposing on the villages.

The SDF had besieged these villages about 4 days ago, preventing entry and exit from them, and launched a campaign of raids and arrests, during which they targeted dozens of people, including former leaders of the Free Army, on various charges, including smuggling to the regime and drug smuggling.

The SDF continued its escalation in its areas of deployment in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, and imposed a comprehensive siege on the villages and towns of "Al-Jabeh", "Al-Hissan", "Shaqra" and "Al-Muhammadiyah" in the northwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

According to the information, the SDF arrested dozens of people, after completely besieging villages and cities and imposing a curfew that lasted for hours.

The areas of SDF deployment in Deir ez-Zor countryside witness from time to time popular demonstrations and protests rejecting the policies of the SDF militia, which are imposing “forced recruitment” campaigns on young people or to demand an improvement in the deteriorating situation in the standard of living.
