Dozens... Members of the Iranian militia were killed and wounded in an ISIS attack in central Syria

Yesterday, Friday, 19 members of the Iran-aligned Liwa al-Quds militia were killed and wounded in a machine-gun attack that targeted their headquarters in the Palmyra desert, east of Homs, eastern Syria.

Local sources said that a major attack with machine guns targeted their headquarters in the Palmyra desert, launched by unidentified gunmen believed to be affiliated with the Islamic State "ISIS".

The sources added that the attack resulted in the killing of 14 members of the Al-Quds Brigades, including Palestinians and Iraqis, and the injury of 5 others, who were then transferred to Palmyra Military Hospital.

The sources indicated that the number of attackers reached dozens, and they were chanting slogans usually called ISIS and wearing the military uniforms of the government forces as camouflage.

It stated that the militias loyal to Iran mobilized and brought military reinforcements, including heavy vehicles, to comb the area after the attackers fled.
