The National Defense Militia besieged the police station in the city of Al-Ashara

A quarrel erupted between the police station of the city of Al-Ashara and a group affiliated with the "National Defense" militia in the city of Al-Ashara in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

According to local sources, the reason for the quarrel was the arrest of the policemen of a member of the "National Defense" militia, while he was visiting the Soul Department in the city of "Al-Ashara" with the aim of extracting a statement.

The sources pointed out that, following the incident, the National Defense Militia cordoned off the Al-Noufos Center and the Al-Ashara Police Department, and demanded the release of the element, which led to the intervention of high-ranking police and military security officers to resolve and end the tension and lift the siege on the police station.

It is worth noting that the National Defense Militia is not subject to the laws imposed by the government of the Assad regime, and it uses its existing influence through its support by political and military figures from the Assad regime.
