The crash of a fighter plane for the Assad forces in As-Suwayda due to a technical failure

Local news websites reported that a fighter plane belonging to the Assad forces crashed in the northeastern countryside of As-Suwayda, on Friday, 2 September.

According to the "Sweida 24" network, as a result of a technical malfunction, a fighter plane belonging to the Assad regime crashed near the town of Al-Khalidiya in the eastern countryside of As-Suwayda, noting that the area in which it was present did not fall into military operations.

The network quoted its sources as saying that they heard a strong crash sound and saw the plane fall near their town, noting that the pilot survived the plane after jumping from the parachute.

The source indicated that the pilot was injured and was taken to the National Hospital in the area, while dozens gathered at the crash site.

He explained that the fighter plane was on a training flight from Khalkhaleh Military Airport, where it was seen flying over the area since morning.

It is worth noting that the airspace of As-Suwayda governorate rarely witnesses military flights, with the exception of training flights, while the governorate witnesses continuous security tensions between local military factions and others linked to the armed forces of the regime.
