President of the Anesthesia Association: We lost 60% of the medical staff between immigration and retirement

The head of the Syndicate of Anesthesia and Pain Management in the Medical Syndicate, Zubeida Shamout, considered the delay in issuing new salaries for medical units and fees in general, specifically the committee concerned with this issue, noting that the past months had completed the study of fees and wages for the medical unit.

Shamout confirmed that many medical professionals began to significantly decrease their numbers, estimating the loss of medical staff by 60%, in addition to a noticeable decrease in the number of doctors in several hospitals.

She said: In addition, a large number of doctors emigrated, and some of them reached the retirement age, and therefore the situation requires radical solutions to preserve the medical staff in Syria.

She explained that similarly, with the issuance of the new tariff, work is regulated and there is no desire to raise the tariff between one doctor and another so as not to harm the patient, indicating that the Doctors Syndicate will find a commitment to the issue of the medical tariff, so that the tariff is proportional between the doctor and the patient.

She expressed her hope that the Ministry of Health would raise the issue of fees and salaries for the new medical units to the Council of Ministers as soon as possible, as the fees became formal and therefore the situation is no longer acceptable.

The reality of the health sector is deteriorating day after day in the Syrian regime-controlled areas, for various reasons, including interruption of services, lack of support, or lack of medicines and medical supplies. , due to the lack of medical supplies, which will put the lives of many poor patients at risk.
