On charges of broken identity, checkpoint members beat a young man in Eastern Ghouta

Members of a security checkpoint belonging to the "State Security" branch beat a young man from the city of "Duma" in Eastern Ghouta, under the pretext of breaking his ID card.

According to the "Sawt Al-Asima" website, the checkpoint members stationed on the road between the towns of "Hosh Nasri" and "Hosh Al-Fara", assaulted the young man while he was crossing the aforementioned checkpoint.

He explained that the checkpoint personnel tried to arrest the young man and confiscate his motorcycle, but the young man showed a document issued by the "Souls Department" of the Assad regime proving that he had applied for a "damaged allowance" in order to replace his broken identity.

He added that the young man had tried to escape from the checkpoint members after their rejection of the presented document, as they arrested him and beat him before throwing him at the side of the checkpoint.

He pointed out that the officers responsible for the checkpoint, allowed the parents to take the young man to the medical center in the town of "Al-Shifouniyah", under the condition that the young man's motorcycle and his personal identity were kept until he visited the branch.

It is worth noting that the "Saasa" branch of the Military Security had earlier arrested a resident of the town of "Kanaker" in Damascus countryside, while crossing a checkpoint on the outskirts of the town, on charges of breaking the ID card, then he was released after about 14 days, after the intervention of several mediations and the payment of a sum of money. 10 million Syrian pounds for the head of the branch.
