The death of two children and the injury of a third as a result of the explosion of a mine left behind by the SDF militia in Hasaka countryside

On Tuesday, August 30, local media sources reported the death of two children and the injury of a third child, as a result of a landmine explosion in the countryside of Ras al-Ain city in the northern countryside of Hasaka.

According to local sources, the girl, "Aida al-Zoro", born in 2021, died, and her brother, "Ahmed al-Zoro", born in 2018, was injured, as a result of the explosion of a landmine left by the "SDF" militia in the village of "Nasiriya" in the countryside of the city of "Ras al-Ain" in the countryside of Hasaka Northern.

The source added that the child "Abdel-Raouf Ahmed" also died of his injuries in the same explosion after he was transferred to the hospital. He was born in 2018.

He explained that the child "Ahmed Al-Zoro", the brother of the deceased girl, "Aida", was taken to Turkish hospitals to receive treatment as a result of his injuries in the explosion.

It is worth noting that, according to the annual report issued by the International Coalition to Eliminate Cluster Munitions and the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, Syria recorded the highest death toll in the world in 2020 in the number of victims of remnants of war and landmines.
