A Kurdish displaced person from Afrin countryside was killed under torture in a PYD prison in Aleppo

A person was killed under torture today, Monday, August 29, weeks after he was detained in the prisons of the SDF (PYD) militia along with his sister, who is still being held by the militia.

Kurdish websites reported that the young man, "Farhad Rashid Sheikho," 38 years old, rose as a result of severe torture in a prison affiliated with the SDF, noting that Farhad was arrested with his sister, on April 11, and the SDF accused him of "negotiating with the Syrian regime."

A human rights organization in Afrin said that the body of the young man, Farhad, was seen yesterday "dumped next to a trash can in the Ashrafieh neighborhood" after a civilian car threw it inside the armed forces of SDF intelligence, and since then they fled north of Bani Zaid district.

Sheikho hails from the village of al-Hasa Mirkan, in the al-Mabatli district of Afrin governorate. He is a displaced person in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo. Farhad is known to have been a SDF fighter, and despite that, PYD members arrested him. While the fate of his sister, "Nazia", a class teacher, in the prisons of the Qasd militia, is still unknown.

In a related context, earlier this month, media activist "Imad al-Zakaab" died under torture, a week after he was arrested with other activists and media professionals in a SDF prison and accused of "collaborating with Turkey".

It is noteworthy that the SDF, which is led by the Kurdish People's Protection Units, is the armed Syrian wing of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, which is listed on several lists of terrorist organizations.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights documented the death of 83 people under torture in the prisons of the SDF, from 2011 to last June.
