A fire devours three tents for the displaced north of Idlib

Three fires broke out today, Sunday, August 27, in tents for the displaced in a rural camp in Idlib, northwest Syria, due to a gas leak, causing material damage to civilian property.

The Syrian Civil Defense said in a post on its official Facebook page that "three fires broke out in tents inhabited by displaced people in the Karnaz camp near the town of Kali, north of Idlib."

She explained that the cause of the fires was a gas leak that burned two tents and partially damaged the third tent, prompting the teams to take the initiative to cool the fires to prevent them from igniting again.

She indicated that alleviating the suffering of the displaced in the camps is linked to their return to their homes from which they were expelled, and to hold the Assad regime responsible for the crimes it committed against them, and to hold them accountable.

The fires continue in the camps for the displaced in northern Syria, with high temperatures throughout the summer as a result of the leakage of domestic gas and the explosion of solar batteries, causing casualties among civilians and damage to property.
