Iran seeks to establish a joint oil company with the Syrian regime

Iran has proposed establishing a joint venture to explore for oil and gas with the Syrian regime in a move it is trying to gain a foothold in oil deals in Syria.

The Iranian proposal came during talks between the Deputy Oil Minister in the Syrian government, "Khaled Al-Alej", and the Executive Director of the Syrian-Iranian People's Friendship Association, "Hassan Al-Shakhsi", head of the Economic Committee.

According to the Syrian news agency SANA, the Iranian side offered to "establish a joint project in the field of exploration, exploration, drilling and petrochemical materials," believing that the project "could form a nucleus for neighboring countries to pass, and public companies will be dealt with."

For its part, the Iranian news agency considered that "the oil and gas industry in Syria is one of the most important Iranian investment markets."

And I believed that the oil and gas cooperation between Damascus and Tehran could be an "important step" in the field of economic cooperation.

It is noteworthy that eight Iranian companies specialized in the oil industry and exploration operations participated in the "Syria International Oil, Gas and Energy" exhibition, which was held last month in the exhibition city in Damascus.
