Civil Defense: More than 500 families sleep in the open overnight due to rain

The Syrian Civil Defense teams confirmed that, since yesterday night, 77 camps in Idlib countryside and Aleppo have been damaged by torrential rains and floods.

The Civil Defense said that the number of tents that were completely damaged (destroyed or completely entered by water) is more than 100, and the number of tents that were partially damaged (water leaked into them) is more than 550.

It pointed out that the number of families that were severely affected by more than 620 families, where most of them are without shelters.

It added that most of the roads and squares in most of the camps and their surroundings have turned into puddles of mud that are difficult to enter and exit from to deliver supplies to the residents, if any, or for students to go to schools, especially since a large number of camps still have their floors on agricultural soil.

It pointed out that all the efforts made by relief institutions and humanitarian work are insufficient due to the scale of the catastrophe experienced by the forcibly displaced people in northern Syria.

It is noteworthy that a rainstorm hit northern Syria on Saturday, causing many tents to erode and collapse.
