Military exercises conducted by Russia and Al-Assad regime in Palmyra simulate repelling an attack

Local sources reported that Russian media published a video recording showing that the Russian army and members of Al-Assad regime conducted a military maneuver in Palmyra, where the "Islamic State" organization is active.
The recording showed that the regime's members received training to search for and detonate mines from a distance, using Russian equipment.
The training also included the use of machine guns and the conduct of maneuvers that simulate confronting ISIS elements.
This training comes after another similar exercise conducted by the Russian military police with members of the regime in Aleppo countryside.
The organization is widely spread in Palmyra desert, Aleppo, Deir Ezzor and Hama, and it constantly carries out attacks against the Assad regime and Iranian militias in those areas.
A Russian war reporter had previously confirmed the difficulty of the battles taking place between the two sides in the desert.
"Islamic State" organization had previously claimed, according to what the Syria TV website reported, the failure of a Russian airdrop nearAl- Sukhna in Palmyra, and said that it had killed a Russian soldier.
On the other hand, Russia didn't recognize this operation.
