The coalition calls on donors to support the Syrian camps with winter needs

The head of the Syrian coalition, "Salem Muslat" called on the donors of Syria to support the winter needs in the camps of northern Syria.

Al-Maslat sent a series of messages to the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, Qatar Fund for Development, the Qatar Red Crescent, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, the representative of the ruler of Abu Dhabi in the Al Dhafra region, and the Under-Secretary General Humanitarian and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths.

Al-Maslat said, “With the onset of the winter season each year, the suffering is renewed in the camps of the displaced and displaced Syrians in the regions of northern Syria.

It pointed out that this suffering is exacerbated by the spread of the Corona pandemic, as the displaced fear a disaster in their camps, which lack the minimum health and humanitarian conditions.

It is called for "helping the displaced and the displaced in northern Syria to face the winter and its severe cold, and work to improve the insulation of tents to prevent rainwater from leaking and collapsing during rain and snow storms.

It is called for the need to improve the sewage networks and roads within the camps to avoid floods that damage the tents and shelter materials for the displaced and prevent rescue teams and ambulances from reaching the camps during storms, and to urgently provide fuel and heating supplies to all the displaced in all camps to protect them from disease.

It pointed out that the winter season has become an obsession for the Syrians, due to the rain and snow that the region has witnessed in recent years, which caused numerous damages and left tragic scenes in their memory.
