Local sources reported that a number of Al-Assad regime forces were killed today, Saturday, after they fell into an ambush carried out by unknown persons in the western countryside of Al-Raqqa.

Local media sources confirmed that two members of Al-Assad militia were killed and three others were wounded, after being targeted by unknown persons believed to be affiliated with the Islamic State.

The sources indicated, according to Al-Durar Al-Shamiya network, that Al-Assad militia members were targeted when they were riding in a military vehicle on Maskanah and Debsi Afnan road, southwest of Al-Raqqa Governorate.

The sources stated that the Iranian militias stationed in Maskana area, east of Aleppo, sent military reinforcements to the site of the attack in an attempt to pursue the attackers, but they were unsuccessful.
