Demonstrations escalate in Deir Ezzor in protest against the arbitrary practices of SDF militia

Deir Ezzor governorate witnessed protests and demonstrations for the third consecutive day against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), for the release of detainees.

And local media said that new demonstrations took place in the towns of “Abu Hamam” and “Granij” east of Deir Ezzor, to demand the immediate release of detainees and the cessation of arbitrary arrests against the people of Deir Ezzor.

The demonstrators demanded the accountability of public security officials in Deir Ezzor, who are directly related to the cases of kidnapping and arbitrary arrest practiced by "SDF", which has become frequent from time to time without restraint, according to the newspaper "Jisr".

They also demanded that the fate of the detainees be disclosed, that they be brought before the judiciary in accordance with the rules, that the charges against them be clarified, and that their families be informed of the course of the investigation, which expresses the necessary rights of every human being.

It is noteworthy that the protests in Deir Ezzor began two days ago after SDF arrested one of the merchants of the town of Abu Hamam without charging him. The behavior of "SDF" is similar to the actions of militias and mercenaries, as they described them.
