Local sources reported that unidentified gunmen assassinated two people, one of whom was a member of Daraa Central Committee.

According to what "Ahrar Houran Gathering" stated, unidentified persons assassinated Sheikh "Ahmed al-Baqirat" after targeting him with several direct bullets, in "Tal Shehab" in Daraa countryside, which led to his death after being seriously injured.

The source indicated that Sheikh Ahmed al-Baqirat is one of the prominent members of Daraa Central Committee, which is responsible for the western sector of Daraa governorate, where he was buried today in a popular procession.

The assembly added that another assassination took place against the leader "Samer al-Hamad", known as (Abu Saddam Kharba), after he was shot dead in front of his house between the towns of Kharba and Ma'arba, east of Daraa.

The assembly pointed out that "Al-Hamd" is from the Lajat area, and previously worked as a leader for "Sunnah Youth Forces" faction of the opposition factions prior to the Syrian regime's takeover of Daraa Governorate in July 2018.

It is noteworthy that Al-Hamad worked within the Eighth Brigade of the Fifth Corps backed by Russia, then left the brigade after disputes broke out between him and the commander of the Eighth Brigade, "Ahmed Al-Awda" in January 2019.
