Construction of the first drinking water purification plant in northern Syria

One of the local organizations in northern Syria started building the first drinking water purification plant to alleviate the suffering of the people, and the regime's government controls the water sources in the area.

And the media reported that IYD organization in the city of Jarabulus in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, started building a plant to treat and purify the Euphrates River water in the eastern region with the aim of securing clean water suitable for human consumption for thousands of residents, with the area experiencing a worsening of the groundwater situation and the inability to meet the requirements of hundreds of thousands persons.

The station is scheduled to provide drinking water for more than sixty thousand people in and around Jarablus, including the camps for displaced people scattered on its outskirts.

It is noteworthy that the regions of northern Syria suffer from a severe shortage of water, due to Al-Assad regime's control of the stations and cutting off water from the liberated areas to put pressure on them.
