Local sources reported that the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) had arrested an officer and members of the regime forces near Tal Abiad, after receiving information that they had sold weapons to smugglers from the area.

Today, Wednesday, Syria TV website quoted private sources as saying: “The anti-terrorism unit, in coordination with the military intelligence of SDF, raided two regime headquarters in Qazali and Khafiya Salem villages and arrested 7 of them, including a lieutenant, based on information that arms and ammunition given to them were sold to smugglers.” from the area.

The sources indicated that the process of selling ammunition and weapons provided by SDF to the regime forces on the fighting lines north and east of Ain Issa was also repeated in October 2021 and in July of the same year, but SDF didn’t follow up with arrests or investigations into the matter.

According to the sources, the detainees were transferred to Ain al-Arab prison by Military Intelligence for interrogation, while the regime forces withdrew their members from Qazali and Khafiya Salem villages, demanding that the Russian forces return the arrested elements with the officer to end the tension.
