The Public Security Agency in Idlib governorate said that it had uncovered a dangerous cell in the north of the governorate, which was engaged in criminal activities in the area.

The security system confirmed that its organized crime department managed to set up a tight ambush for one of the kidnapping gangs in Maarat Misrin, north of Idlib city, which led to killing the gang leader after he resisted members of the Executive Force of the security system.

It is noteworthy that the security forces in Idlib arrested a few days ago members of a cell affiliated with the "Islamic State" organization, in the city of Jisr al-Shughur in the western countryside of Idlib, and seized various weapons and explosive devices prepared for detonation.

The authorities also arrested a cell planning to kidnap money changers, in the northern countryside of Idlib, to negotiate with their families for money.
