A general blackout in Syria...the reasons are still unknown

Most of the Syrian governorates witnessed a general power outage, outside the approved times for electrical rationing.
In an interview with loyalist media outlets, the regime's Ministry of Electricity stated that investigations were launched to find out the reasons, which are still unknown until now.
The ministry indicated that it has started the process of rebooting the stations, a process that usually takes approximately two to three hours, before the power returns to the network normally.
The capital, Damascus, and its suburbs and a number of governorates witnessed a near-total power outage yesterday, as a result of an attack on Deir Ali power station in the countryside of Damascus, which suspended it from work.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Electricity announced, hours later, the gradual return of electricity after the re-starting of the Zara, Nasiriyah and Jindar power plants.
Local sources in Damascus city stated that the outage occurred at 11:30 pm yesterday, and it included most of the city's neighborhoods and suburbs and further areas, while some scattered areas in Damascus city remained lit.
In a phone-call with the regime's "Al-Syrian" channel, the Minister of Electricity in the regime's government, Ghassan Al-Zamel, said that one of the gas lines feeding Deir Ali power station was attacked, causing it to stop working, indicating that repair work is underway.
Al-Zamil added that electricity is expected to return to Damascus within an hour, and then return to other areas, without giving any details about the nature of the attack.
The local sources in the city of Damascus, according to the Syrian opposition TV, indicated that the electricity began to return to some neighborhoods and areas around three o’clock this morning, while the electricity remained cut off from most of the city’s neighborhoods and suburbs until the moment of preparing this news.
