A first lieutenant in the regime forces was killed on Saturday, in an attack by gunmen, in Badiyat al-Masrib in the countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Jisr newspaper said that the first lieutenant in the regime forces, "Suleiman Al-Qantar", was killed yesterday, Saturday, in an attack by gunmen believed to be from the "Islamic State" organization "ISIS" in Deir Ezzor desert.

The newspaper pointed out that the lieutenant is from the ranks of the Republican Guard, and he is from Al-Qadmous area, in the countryside of Tartous Governorate.

It is noteworthy that since the fall of Al-Baghouz in March 2019, ISIS cells have carried out hundreds of attacks, targeting the positions of the Syrian regime forces and Iranian militias in the Syrian desert near Palmyra and Al-Sukhnah in Homs countryside.
