Dead from the Russian-backed 17th Division in an explosion in Deir Ezzor

Two members of the Russian-backed 17th Division militia were killed yesterday, Saturday, when a mine exploded while they were trying to move it to another location to detonate it near the town of Kabageb, west of Deir Ezzor.

According to what was reported by Radio Al-Kul, the locally-made ruler-type mine was planted recently in the area, noting that it exploded due to the two officers not knowing how to deal with it well.

The source added that the two members hail from the town of Maadan in the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqa, and they are “Nour al-Din Mansour” from the town of al-Nabk and “Rami al-Sayeh,” stressing that the regime’s Red Crescent transported the two bodies to Deir Ezzor Military Hospital.

It is noteworthy that control in Deir Ezzor governorate is divided among several forces, namely the Syrian Democratic Forces, the regime, Russia and the Iranian militias, in addition to the international coalition forces.
