Local news sources confirmed that the Russian forces sent military reinforcements from the city of Palmyra to As-Sukhna desert in the eastern countryside of Homs.

And Furat Post website quoted sources as saying that the Russian forces sent a whole battalion of its forces, accompanied by elements of the "Fifth Corps" militia, with the aim of installing new points and headquarters in As-Sukhna desert, to prevent the infiltration of ISIS elements in the desert.

The Iranian militias also sent additional reinforcements from "Fatimiyoun", "Zainabiyoun" and the Lebanese "Hezbollah" militias to several areas of the Syrian desert, with the aim of strengthening their headquarters in the region.

This step comes, according to the Syrian event, after the Russian Ministry of Defense announced killing one of its soldiers, and injury others, due to the explosion of a landmine in a military vehicle during a reconnaissance tour near Tuinan fields, east of Homs.
