New defection in the ranks of the regime forces in Al-Raqqa countryside

Local sources confirmed the defection of a number of regime members in the countryside of Al-Raqqa during the last hours, which prompted the militias to pour out their anger on defenseless civilians.

The local "Ain al-Furat" network said that eleven members of the regime forces defected from the areas of the western countryside of Al-Raqqa, and headed to the areas controlled by SDF militia.

The network indicated that the regime forces - as a result - poured out their anger on civilians, and launched a campaign of raids in the town of Dibsi Afnan, west of Al-Raqqa, during which they arrested five young men, accusing them of facilitating smuggling and defection.

It pointed out that the regime transferred detainees from the western countryside, and handed them over to the State Security detachment in the city of Ma'dan.

It added that the defectors coordinated with the checkpoints of the Syrian Democratic Forces militia, and headed towards those areas, fleeing the living conditions in the regime-controlled areas.

It is noteworthy that the regime-controlled areas in northern and northeastern Syria, adjacent to SDF areas, witness defection from time to time, escaping the battles in the Syrian desert and the difficult living conditions.
