A dispute about drugs leads to clashes between Hezbollah and the National Defense in Homs countryside

A member of the National Defense Militia was killed and others were wounded, yesterday evening, Saturday, due to a quarrel between a member of the defense and another from the Lebanese Hezbollah militia, which turned into clashes in the town of Al-Farqlus, east of Homs.

The "Ain al-Furat" network reported that clashes in which light machine guns and hand grenades were used between the two parties, led to killing a member of the National Defense and the injury of two, as well as injury a Lebanese Hezbollah member, and they were all transferred in military vehicles to Homs Military Hospital.

The network added that a personal quarrel occurred between an element of the National Defense and another from the Lebanese Hezbollah over a quantity of drugs given by Hezbollah element to the dead man from the defense, which developed into clashes between two groups.

It pointed out that the amount of drugs that Hezbollah element gave to the defense element to promote it amounted to 6000 Captagon pills and a quantity of white crystal "methamphetamine".

It pointed out that the Russian-backed Fifth Corps militia intervened to end the clashes and withdrew weapons from the two groups' elements and handed them over to their leadership, and demanded that both sides hold those involved accountable.

It is noteworthy that drug promotion often causes clashes between militia members due to its transformation into the most prominent and fastest spreading trade in the region, and the abuse of these substances by all elements, which loses them control over their actions.
