Local sources reported that the Russian forces have reinforced their security measures in Syria after killing one of its members in an attack in the countryside of Homs.

The command of the Russian forces at Palmyra Military Airport informed the patrol officials to prevent the conduct of Russian patrols in the eastern countryside of Homs except in exceptional cases, provided that the patrols take the method of camouflage in coordination with the Syrian regime forces, and prevent the departure of any patrol or military personnel in the area after four o’clock in the afternoon local time Damascus.

"Ain al-Furat" website stated that the Russian forces were carrying out routine patrols in Khneifis area, near the phosphate mines, and in Khirbet al-Tiyas area, adjacent to T-4 military airport.

It indicated, according to opposition news websites, that the areas where the Russian patrols will stop will be handed over to the Russian-backed "Fifth Corps" militia by going out with patrols after coordination with Palmyra Airport.

The Russian Ministry of Defense had announced killing a Russian soldier as a result of an explosion targeting a military vehicle belonging to it in Homs Governorate.
