Local sources confirmed that 5 members of the regime forces, including an officer, were killed on Saturday evening, in two separate attacks, in the countryside of Al-Raqqa, where ISIS cells are active.

The local "Al-Khabour" network indicated that unknown gunmen attacked a checkpoint of the regime forces in the desert of Jabal Bsharri, east of Al-Raqqa, killing 4 members and wounding others.

The network added that the injured were taken to a hospital for treatment, while the identity of the attackers was not known.

In the context, an officer of the regime forces with the rank of first lieutenant was killed in an attack by unknown persons, which targeted a checkpoint in Athria desert, west of Al-Raqqa, according to the "Nahr Media" news website.

Untill of this writing, no party has claimed responsibility for these two attacks.

According to Radio Al-Kul, ISIS from time to time adopts attacks against the regime forces and its militias throughout Syria, while other attacks remain without specifying the perpetrator.
