A new merger between the factions of the National Army in northern Syria

Several divisions and brigades of the Syrian National Army in the north of the country formed a new military body, under the auspices of the Turkish side, and placed a consensus commander at its head.
The Lebanese newspaper "Al-Modon" said that it was agreed between Al-Mu'tasim Division, the 20th Division, Al-Hamzah Division, Sultan Suleiman Shah Division, and Suqur Al-Shamal Brigade, to merge with each other, and appoint Mutasim Abbas as the leader of the bloc.
It added that Seif Bolad was appointed as the deputy commander-in-chief, who is known for his strong relations with the Turkish military leadership in northern Syria, since the launch of the "Euphrates Shield" operation five years ago.
It indicated that it is likely that the former commander of the "13th Division", Lt. Col. Ahmed Saud, will be appointed to the position of Chief of Staff, due to his links with international bodies and experience in the Syrian war.
The newspaper pointed out that the new step was welcomed and supported by Turkey, which appeared during a meeting between the leadership of the five formations and Turkish soldiers, on the second of this month, September.
