Balmida fish cause 21 cases of poisoning in Lattakia

Loyal media sources reported that the Martyr Hamza Hospital, "Nawfal National Hospital in Lattakia," received 21 cases of food poisoning yesterday due to eating Balmida fish, in addition to others eating bird fish.
Al-Watan newspaper quoted the official in charge of poisoning in the Latakia Health Directorate, "Dr. Louay Saeed," that 21 cases with symptoms of allergy, vomiting and diarrhea were referred to the hospital, and through the examination it was found that the symptoms returned to eating Balmida fish mainly and eating bird fish.
The doctor added that no serious case was recorded, and that the necessary treatment was provided to all the patients, and they were discharged successively.
Saeed pointed to the reasons for the increase in the possibility of food allergy after eating fish, especially Balmida, which is the failure to meet the conditions of preservation with high temperatures, so it is preferable to eat fish immediately after fishing.
It is noteworthy that the rate of poisoning increased in the areas under the control of the regime for various reasons, including contaminated water or spoiled food, due to the lack of supervision by Al-Assad government.
