For unknown reasons, the Russian forces suddenly removed their flags from Palmyra Airport, east of Homs

Yesterday, Friday, Russian forces removed their flags from Palmyra Military Airport in the eastern countryside of Homs, local sources said.
"Ain Alfurat" website confirmed: "For the first time, yesterday morning, the Russian forces removed 7 flags from the vicinity of Palmyra Airport and raised the flags of Al-Assad regime in their place."
It added: "The reasons that made the Russians to remove their flags are still unknown," noting that the Iranian militias had done the same earlier.
The site indicated that the process of removing the flags came after a meeting of Russian officers with commanders from the Fourth Division and the Republican Guard, without knowing the content of the meeting.
The website stated that raising the flags of Al-Assad regime instead of the flags of Russia indicates that the regime's militias have taken over the management of the airport under the supervision of Russian officers.
It is noteworthy that the eastern region of Syria, according to Al-Durar Al-Shamiya opposition website, is witnessing a silent conflict between Russia and Iran, as each party is trying to extend its control over this strategic region rich in resources.
