The regime re-escalates on Daraa Al-Balad and the people are appealing to the United Nations

Local sources confirmed that the militias of the Fourth Division and Iran, on Friday, re-targeted residential neighborhoods in Daraa al-Balad, after they succeeded in blowing up the latest agreement reached by the negotiators and the Central Committee declared its failure, blaming Iran for responsibility.

The sources said that the militias that have besieged Daraa al-Balad for about 75 days, bombed at night with automatic weapons the residential neighborhoods, after two days of cautious calm during the implementation of the terms of the latest agreement.

The sources added, according to Radio Al-Kul, that the militias are still besieging civilians in Daraa Al-Balad and cutting them off all the necessities of life such as bread, water and medicine.

Yesterday, following the announcement of the failure of the latest agreement, the people of Daraa al-Balad and its dignitaries issued a statement calling on the Secretary-General of the United Nations, “Antonio Guterres,” its Special Envoy, Geir Pedersen, the foreign ministers of the member states of the Security Council, and the ambassadors of the countries of the Friends of Syria, for “rapid intervention.” To save the lives of the people in the area.”

The statement pointed to the need to save more than 50,000 civilians, who are threatened with “genocide” after the harsh siege, in light of the military attacks and the bombing of civilian homes and neighborhoods.

In their statement, the people pointed out that the regime's intransigence, its insistence on subjugating citizens by force and violence, and its threat to forcibly displace anyone who demands their rights, makes the negotiations reach a dead end.
