The American forces announced that they had conducted combat maneuvers in the northeastern region of Syria, which is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The spokesman for the International Coalition, Wayne Maroto, said in a tweet on his Twitter account that the purpose of the maneuvers and training is to verify "the efficiency of the region's security operations and self-defense measures."

Maroto added that the mission of Operation Inherent Resolve and the "partner" SDF is to ensure the inevitable defeat of ISIS.

The spokesman noted that the coalition has not added or closed any of its bases in northeastern Syria, adding that civilian supply convoys regularly visit the temporary facilities of the United States.

He pointed out that the coalition will remain committed to the task of defeating ISIS and follow-up operations to increase regional stability.
