Members of the Lebanese Hezbollah were killed in an attack in the countryside of Homs

Unidentified gunmen attacked, at dawn today, Tuesday, a military vehicle of the Lebanese Hezbollah militia while it was passing in the town of Zagroutiyeh on Homs-Palmyra road.

According to the local "Ain al-Furat" network, the sounds of heavy gunfire were heard in the town of Zagroutiyeh. The cries of the injured afterwards revealed that an attack on a four-wheel drive vehicle belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah resulted in the killing of two members and the injury of another.

The network added that the militia informed the Syrian regime forces, which arrived at the scene of the incident and struck a security cordon in search of evidence pointing to the perpetrators.

The sources indicated that one of the dead in the attack was a Lebanese national, which prompted the Syrian regime forces to launch a security campaign in the village, after which 4 people, including a seventy man, were arrested and transferred to Al-Baloona Military Prison in Homs.
