Al-Assad regime blocks a prominent website interested in publishing the exchange rates of the Syrian pound

The Syrian Pound Today website, which specializes in publishing the exchange rate of the Syrian pound against the dollar, reported that the regime’s government had directed the Syrian Telecommunications Corporation to block the site in Syria.

The website mentioned that this procedure comes in conjunction with intense media pumping and disinformation campaigns by the media outlets affiliated with the regime and pro-regime ones, all of which publish incorrect prices on the exchange rate of the dollar against the Syrian pound.

According to the opposition Syria TV, the website added that this trend represented by media pumping campaigns and attempts to mislead the markets through pages and channels on social media, emerged with the taking over of "Muhammad Essam Hazima" to take over the regime's Central Bank of Syria.

The methods of blocking websites have emerged as another alternative to the violent security policies that have caused heavy damage to the Syrian Pound and backfired.

The site indicates that the regime government has resorted to blocking the "Syrian Pound Today" website, due to its importance and accuracy of information about the Syrian currency and news of the Syrian economy, and for its fame and large number of followers inside and outside Syria, and because it is the largest Syrian economic site that achieves this large percentage of follow-up, reference and reliability.
