The Kurdish National Council in Syria issued a statement accusing the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) of kidnapping a member of the Council.

The council stated in a statement that masked gunmen traveling in a car kidnapped “Abdul Ghaffar Muhammad,” a member of the logical committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, at 8:00 pm on Friday, 5-21-2021, on the “Rumailan-Qamishli” road in the far northeast of Syria.

The statement added that the gunmen took "Muhammad" with his car to an unknown destination, leaving his wife on the highway, calling on "SDF" immediately release him and all those holding the opinion, and to stop these intimidating practices that only serve the enemies of our people and their cause.
