The Russian-backed 8th Brigade controls a regime-affiliated checkpoint in Daraa

The "Fifth Corps" supported by Russia, yesterday evening, Friday, took control of a checkpoint of the regime forces at the entrance to Daraa Governorate.
According to the local "Ahrar Horan Gatherıng" website, a group from "8th Brigade" of the Fifth Corps attacked an Air Force Intelligence checkpoint and was able to control it after clashes with light weapons.
The Gatherıng added that the members of "8th Brigade" inflicted several injuries on the checkpoint's members before they were arrested and stripped of their weapons.
Clashes took place against the background of the checkpoint's attempt to arrest young men who had failed to join the military service from the town of Saida in the eastern countryside of Daraa.
It is noteworthy that "8th Brigade" was formed after Al-Assad regime took control of Daraa governorate in southern Syria, led by "Ahmed Al-Awda," one of the former leaders of the Free Army factions, the brigade is made up of the Free Army elements who held reconciliations with Al-Assad regime under Russian care.
