The eastern countryside of Aleppo witnessed violent clashes between the Russian forces and the Afghan "Fatemiyoun" militia, affiliated with the Iranian militia, which led to killing and wounding a number of members of both sides.

The opposition network "Ain Al-Furat" indicated that the clashes occurred when a Russian patrol consisting of two military vehicles and about thirty soldiers entered a camp belonging to the Iranian militia.

The sources indicated that the militia first went out on a patrol to survey one of the areas south of Maskanah city, east of Aleppo, and entered by mistake a training field for "Fatemiyoun", which caused clashes, after the Iranian militia believed that the patrol had raided the camp.

The clash caused death of a Russian soldier and wounding two others, and wounded three members of "Fatemiyoun" militia.

The eastern countryside of Aleppo and the western countryside of Al-Raqqa adjacent geographically, according to the opposition Al-Durar Al-Shamiya website, are witnessing a struggle for influence between militias affiliated with Iran and others affiliated with Russia, and the two parties are competing to recruit the people of the region to install the areas of control.
