A prominent leader in the Intelligence Division survived an assassination attempt in Daraa

Unidentified gunmen targeted a prominent leader in the regime's Military Intelligence Division in Daraa Governorate, southern Syria.
The local "SY 24" platform said that an explosive device was exploded by unknown persons, today, Thursday, near Sida town in the countryside of Daraa, while cars were passing by, one of them called, Imad Abu Zureik.
They indicated that "Abu Zureik" is considered one of the most prominent leaders in the Military Intelligence Division in Daraa. The number of his fighters is estimated at 800, all of whom were formerly members of the factions.
They pointed out that Imad, who was a military official of the Revolutionary Army faction, returned to Daraa after the regime's takeover of southern Syria in 2018, and Russia granted him a third of the financial revenues from Al-Nassib border crossing with Jordan, in return for his work for the Syrian regime.
It is noteworthy that in August 2020, people from the family of the leader, “Imad Abu Zureik,” were targeted by a motorcycle bomb, in Dael city in the northern countryside of Daraa, killing two children, wounding four children, and five men from his family.
