On May 25 of each year, the ninth anniversary of Al-Hula massacre that took place in the countryside of Homs in 2012, which killed more than 107 civilians at the hands of the regime forces, including 50 children under ten years old, and 32 women.

According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, Al-Houla massacre "is the most brutal massacre since the entry of international observers into Syria. It took place in the city of Taldo in Al-Hula Plain region in the northern countryside of Homs, where the bombing began at 1 pm, which lasted 14 hours and left 11 people dead and dozens wounded, followed by storming of the regime's elements."

The network added in its report that at half past six in the evening, news reached to people of Taldo that the regime militias from Alawite and Shiite villages surrounding the area had committed a horrific massacre against civilians on the southern and western sides.

When the youths of the town rushed and infiltrated to this area to confirm the authenticity of the news, amid the violent bombing that did not stop, they were surprised by dozens of bodies for children and women whose bodies and heads were torn by bullets, as well as the bodies of children, women and men slaughtered with knives.

It is noteworthy that the United Nations Human Rights Council voted by 41 to 6 to condemn the Syrian government and hold it responsible for the massacre, and called for an international criminal investigation into the events.

However, the Syrian government forces rejected these accusations, and the Syrian government claimed that Al-Qaeda terrorist groups are responsible for the killings, but the Syrian regime’s decision to prevent the UN Committee from reaching the place of the massacre and communicating with eyewitnesses confirmed its involvement and responsibility for the massacre.
