An officer in the Syrian regime forces ranks was killed the day before yesterday as a because of mutual artillery shelling between the regime forces and the armed factions on the battlefronts in Latakia countryside, northwestern Syria.

Pro-regime pages on social media published news about killing of Lieutenant Yunus Mahmoud Mahmoud, from Habeit village in Latakia countryside, on the axis of Al-Kabina area, north of Lattakia, after missile strikes by the armed factions.

On the evening of Sunday, May 16, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that three soldiers were killed and others wounded by the Syrian regime forces, because of artillery shelling by the opposition factions on their gathering sites in Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria.
