A party from the internal opposition abandons the candidate for the Syrian presidential play, “Mahmoud Meri”

The "Democratic Arab Socialist Union" party in Syria announced that the candidate for the presidential elections, "Mahmoud Mari", has no relationship with the party, and renewed its boycotting attitude for the elections.
The party, which is considered one of the opposition parties inside the country, denied "what is being promoted in some media" about Mari's membership in the party, and explained that this membership "has been ended since 2013, as a result of its deviation from the political line and the firm positions of the party which adopts the necessity of radical and comprehensive democratic national change as a path to political transition.
Regarding the attitude on the presidential elections which will be held on 26th of this month, the party renewed its attitude that “it will not participate in any of the electoral processes and referendums as a candidate or vote, which have taken place and are taking place in Syria since 1973 until today,” according to the statement.
It is noteworthy that Mari introduces himself as the "Syrian national opposition" as it is mentioned in his biography that he was in the "coordination committee", which is the political entity that was formed in the country after the outbreak of the ongoing crisis in it since 2011, and it gathered a number of the main opposition parties, including the Democratic Arab Socialist Union party.
