Pharmacies in the eastern regions of Syria lack many medicines and baby food.
And local sources reported that the governorate is facing a shortage of essential medicines in circulation, such as blood pressure, diabetes, painkillers, asthma and infant formula.
The source added that the regime's Pharmacists Syndicate cannot guarantee any kind of medication.
Activists accused the Iranian and sectarian militias, which actually control the area, of taking medicines, baby food and Captagon as commodities for trade and smuggling, which led to the loss of medicines and milk or the high prices when they were available.
It is noteworthy that the suspension of medicines and baby food coincides with the cholera epidemic sweeping the region and the return of Covid to the fore, as new infections are recorded every day.
