The Turkish General Directorate of Security announced the seizure of a jacket containing explosives, bombs destined for suicide operations, and an explosive device ready to be detonated in the city of Afrin, northern Syria, on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the Directorate, it said that the Syria Task Force in Afrin succeeded in finding equipment used for detonation and an explosive vest weighing 870 grams.
She added that an electric detonator was seized under a bridge located on the Aleppo road, in addition to homemade explosives prepared in 3 remote-controlled explosive devices, stressing that they weigh more than 2 kilograms.
It is worth noting that the areas of Afrin and its countryside, north of Aleppo, have witnessed, during the last period, hit-and-run battles between a number of factions, including Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and the Sultan Suleiman Shah Division on the one hand, and factions affiliated with the Third Legion of the National Army on the other.
