Informed sources confirmed that Al-Assad regime had arrested Major General Nizar Ahmed Al-Khader, commander of the 17th Division and head of the security and military committee in Deir Ezzor province, about two weeks ago.
The sources pointed out, according to the opposition Zaman Al Wasl website, that Al-Khader was immediately transferred to a military investigation committee in addition to the issuance of a seizure warrant for his movable and immovable property, after he appointed Major General Mouin Khaddour as commander of 17th Division, according to the information of the source "Zaman Al Wasl".
The source confirmed that the Iranian leadership in the Deir Ezzor region is the one behind the arrest of Al-Khader, after major differences erupted between them, especially after the arrival of Al-Khader to the leadership of 17th Division in December of last year 2020, where the differences began to appear clearly between them, especially since everyone knows Al-Khader is affiliated with the Russians.
Among the most prominent of the charges against Al-Khader are dealing with the "Syrian Democratic Forces and American Forces" and smuggling oil.
According to the source, Al-Khader clashed with the Iranians who completely control Deir Ezzor and its countryside, which made the Iranian leadership to fabricate some charges that are considered normal in Al-Assad army, such as smuggling oil, receiving bribes and other things, but the major accusation that Al-Khader also faces is his dealings with the Syrian Democratic Forces and American forces, and cooperation against the Iranian militias present there.
